The Age of Stupid
The Age of Stupid is a major new film about the threat of climate catastrophe. Set in 2055, it stars Pete Postlethwaite (In the Name of the Father, Brassed Off) as a man living alone in a world devastated by our actions, looking back on archive footage from 2007 and asking why didn't we stop climate change when we had the chance. This is a film that doesn't just say climate change is bad, but challenges the system that that is causing climate change & war.
It is light on science (for that maybe take a look at Al Gore's film An Inconvenient Truth), but is a campaigning film that urges US to get involved.
It is showing at Vue Cinemas around the country (it's had two showings in Plymouth - hopefully more to come); it goes beyond hand wringing, and challenges us to do something now.
